Before I had my kids, I owned a fashion showroom featuring about ten of the coolest and hippest brands. When my son was born, I sold my biz to an employee to become a full time mom. I’ve always promised myself that I would never lose site of fashion trends and always be in the know. Well, let’s cut to 2012…

Nowadays, I absolutely hate shopping for myself, in part because I can never find the time. Shopping for both my kids has become therapy, filling the void for my fashion roots. As the samples in my closet from my showroom days whittle away, I need to step up my game and start to shop a little bit more for myself. I must admit, in the past, I always turned my nose up to Target. I rarely shopped there, but when my sister would bust out with a cool pair of flats and reveal that they were from Target, I had to give it another shot. Initially, still not shopping for myself, I fell in love with the Harajuku line, by Gwen Stefani for kids. There were a bunch of funky pieces in the collection, all within a great price point. Recently, I was ordering some summer duds for the kids from Target when I decided to click on “women’s dresses.” To my surprise, some pretty cool maxi dresses popped up. Here are some of my faves, and hello, all of them are under $50..amazing!!! I think I will have to take a trip to “Tar’gea” this weekend!
