Halloween isn’t just for kids anymore. In fact, I think the adults have more fun with Halloween parties and costumes than the kids do sometimes! This year, why not choose a costume that shows off your hard work?  Here are some fun ideas I came up with that won’t break the bank:

Katniss Everdeen ~ The Hunger Games heroine is sure to be a popular pick this year, and her costume is fairly simple.  In fact you probably have most of the items in your closet.  Simply put together a black t-shirt (cut off for a more adult look, if you choose), cargo pants, boots (hiking boots would be best), and a windbreaker or parka-type jacket. You will also need a backpack, a MockingJay pin (of course!), and a toy bow & arrow from your kiddos’ toy box.

Flashdance ~ All you need for this one is a black leotard! Add a gray off-the-shoulder sweatshirt, some leg warmers, and a pair of high heels to make this costume.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider ~ This is the costume I wore to the party I went to.  I put together a pair of shorts I already had, a cut-off v-neck t-shirt, and a pair of boots.  Then I added the gun belt, which was bought at one of the many Halloween costume shops that seem to pop up out of nowhere during the month of October.  But the braid was the REALLY fun part!!  I found it at a local beauty supply store, and it simply clipped into my hair!

And if you need a really last minute costume??  Simply throw on your workout clothes, pull your hair back, grab a pair of weights, and go as a proud Skinny Mom!!
