If you are looking for inexpensive and creative gift for teachers, co-workers, and/or neighbors, then look no further. Jar gifts filled with home recipe baked good mixes are lovely to pass along and even better to receive as it takes much of those time consuming minor details out of baking. As the giver, you combine all the lovely dry ingredients and pack it in an air tight jar (mason jars are the best). Cover the tops of the jars with a Christmas fabric or a beautiful bow and attach a gift tag with the baking instructions.
The recipe I always use (and provided below) is a basic gingerbread muffin recipe– the beauty of this recipe is that you can really dress it up by adding some dried cranberries or nuts which makes the jar gift that much more appealing. The combination of ingredients in this recipe are really just lovely alone—but if you are looking to add a personal touch or plan on giving these jars to more than one person you can mix and match nuts, dried fruit, chocolate chips. The entire house will smell of gingerbread while they bake and the muffins are just as incredible to eat as they are to smell!
Happy Holidays from my kitchen to yours!
