Anyone who knows me knows these three truths: I’m scared of revolving doors, I love red meat, and I hate running.  Yes ladies and gentlemen (if there are any gentlemen reading), the woman who dares call herself MsFit hates running.  I don’t dislike it, I 100% hate it.  I cannot for the life of me get into it.  Sure I’ve done a race or two at the urging of friends because “it will be fun”.  But guess what?  Friends lie, it’s not fun.  And when I do run, minutes feel like hours.  I get distracted by every little thing, probably because I’m subconsciously looking for an excuse to stop.  Basically for me, running = torture.  So when Skinny Mom rolled out a bunch of dares for the Roxy Dare Yourself Challenge I naturally picked “run an extra mile” as my dare.

I know what you’re thinking, “pretty sly girl, an extra mile on top of zero miles is only a mile”, but believe it or not, I committed to run about 2 miles a few times a week.  So, now instead of my usual 2 miles, I’ll be running 3, yucko. I know 3 miles might not seem like a lot to some of you, but for me it feels like a marathon, so back off.

The one bright spot of my dare?  I get to wear my new Roxy Outdoor Fitness gear.  Okay, so here’s the deal with my Roxy stuff, I kinda love it.  I know I’m not supposed to say I love an inanimate object, but I do so get over it.  Before I go any further let me say this, I sweat A TON when I do cardio.  Seriously guys, I look like I jumped in a pool after a half hour on the treadmill.  The beauty of every single piece I tried was since it’s made with outdoor fitness in mind, it’s all super moisture wicking and basically sweat proof.  It’s such a relief to be able to jump off the treadmill and head right to the weight room without being too self-conscious about how sweaty I am. I know that’s a bit of an over share, but we’re all friends, right?  Right!

Now on to the individual pieces.  First up the Go Built In Bra Tank, aka my new obsession.  I love this tank’s open back, and not just because I’m a sweat monster, I just like less fabric on my skin when I work out.  Another great feature is that the tank is long enough to keep your tummy covered when lifting your arms overhead and stretching.  I also got 2 pairs of shorts, the Bump Set Shorts and Hot Competition Shorts, and they are both super flattering.  Normally I shy away from running in shorts at the gym because A) I have a fairly ample booty and no one needs to see that, and B) is there anything more annoying than when your shorts ride up?  I’m happy to report that both pairs of shorts are wedgie free! If you aren’t into running in short shorts then you’re in luck because the Upwind Capris and Everyday Yoga Pants are awesome for running!  Remember earlier when I said I get easily distracted when I run?  Well nothing distracts me like a seam or itchy tag.  I know that’s nit-picky but that’s just how I roll.  I can’t help that I have sensitive skin!  Well, guys, I can honestly say that no clothing-related irritants gave me an excuse to stop running.  Another problem I have with workout pants and capris is that after I get moving the waist starts to get a little loose and I have to constantly adjust it.  Not the case here.  My Roxy bottoms are nice and snug for my entire workout, but not so snug that I have to worry about CT, win/win.

Ok, so now that I’m done bragging about the fabulous Roxy Outdoor Fitness, who’s ready to dare themselves this week with an extra mile?  I’m going to be updating on Twitter (@HotelFoxtrot) if you want to follow along and/or tweet me about your dare.  Oh and I think for completing our dares we deserve some goodies…well, you’re in luck!!!
