I love making homemade dressings as I can experiment with different flavors. Sometimes I just want something different than what I can purchase in the store.  Not to mention that the salad dressings that you can make at home are often times lower in calories and fat.  For this Skinny Sweet and Sour Dressing, I combined sweet onions, extra virgin olive oil, and celery seed for a sweet and light dressing that pairs great with summer and fruit salads.

Skinny Sweet and Sour Dressing

Prep time: 5 minutes

Yield: 10 servings

Serving size: 1.5 Tbsp


  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup granulated Splenda
  • ½ cup distilled white vinegar
  • ¼ onion, finely diced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp celery seed


  1. Using a blender or shaker, blend until all ingredients are mixed well or emulsified.
