I hope to inspire or encourage at least one person to go after their fitness goals. Even if you are not interested in entering a competition or becoming a fitness model, find something that motivates you to stay fit and healthy. Do it for yourself and for those people in your life that want to keep you around for a long time! I always tell other moms to remember that their health and fitness is crucial to maintaining a happy healthy family. It’s very easy to lose your sense of self and focus solely on your family’s needs. I suggest that moms try to commit to doing some type of exercise just 30-60 minutes, 4-5 days a week. It doesn’t have to be in the gym, I actually only make it there twice a week. Walking and running are completely free and can be done almost anywhere! You can also involve the whole family. Set up a place or room in your house where you can do workouts. All you need is your body weight, a few dumbbells, an exercise ball, and a little imagination (or DVD’s). I have experienced firsthand what it is like to have a sick parent and it is very hard. It is so important to take care of your health so you can live a longer, healthier, happier life. Do it for yourself and your family. It is NEVER too late to get started because when it comes to being fit and healthy…FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!!!!!
June 28, 2012 | by Tammy Streich "Fitness Diva"Here is something I have found to be the key to success in any thing you want to accomplish…..”Always believe in yourself and set the highest of goals.” When you set your goals, form an action plan to achieve them, and follow that plan, even if you do not achieve all of them, you can be proud knowing you “finished the race”. Here are my four little reminders to myself when I set a goal and/or make a commitment….
Health and Fitness: Failure is Not an Option
1. If I can’t, I must
2. If I can, I will
3. Failure is not an option
4. Finish the race.
So, start now and set your fitness goals for the next 12 weeks. Set them high, even though you may not achieve them all in the beginning. You will undoubtedly get in better shape and feel healthier. No matter the outcome, if you finish what you start, then you have succeeded! To quote one of my favorite athletes….”I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” Michael Jordan
