You would think that pigs are flying, but nope, Jessica Simpson just finally had her baby. Something many of us were sure may never happen. I started questioning the length of what-seemed-to-be the forever gestational purgatory of her child back in February and was relieved to hear I was not the only one that felt like Simpson’s pregnancy was also dragging out longer than the Harry Potter movies series did.

But alas, Maxwell Drew Johnson (remember that tease about the “nontraditional” name?) was born on Tuesday, May 1 into the arms of awaiting parents, Jessica Simpson and her fiancé, Eric Johnson.

It appears the little chunkalina (that’s what I call my own precious chubby eleven-month-old, so don’t be offended) needed the extra time in utero as she weighed in at a healthy 9 lbs. 13 oz. and measures in at 21 ¾ inches.

Thirty-one-year-old Simpson released the following statement via her website, “We are so grateful for all the love, support, and prayers we have received,” she wrote. “This has been the greatest experience of our lives!”

Congratulations Jessica and Eric! Now, the next point of interest will be to see how the first pictures of baby Maxwell will emerge. Will a
paparazzi be the first to steal pics of the new celeb-spawn or will Jessica sell the photos? Something tells me I see a magazine cover shoot in store.  Just sayin’.
