As every mom knows, being a mom means that you are busy! I know that I rarely accomplish everything I need to do in one day. So we have become masters at prioritizing. And one thing you need to prioritize are date nights with your husband! Here are some of my favorite easy and budget-friendly dates that aren’t just the same dinner and a movie:

Try one of his hobbies! My husband is an avid hunter and fisherman and to say the least, I’m not really the outdoorsy type! He likes to deer hunt with a bow (I have no desire to kill a deer), so last year I bought a bow and I love target shooting! It is a lot of fun and a good arm workout! So, he loves to go shoot our bows together because not only does he love it, but he also loves teaching me how to shoot. We have guns that we like to shoot too. We sometimes squeeze in a shooting range date while our kids are at school or on the weekends.

Get the kids to bed early and watch a movie or TV show together! My favorite is The Bachelor and his favorite is Chicago Fire. Instead of staring at your phones or laptop, cuddle together on the couch. It won’t cost you anything and it’s a good way to spend uninterrupted time together!

Take a bubble bath together! After the kids are asleep, light some candles, have a glass of wine, listen to some music and just relax together. It will set the mood for other romantic activities too!

Have a bonfire in your backyard. If you don’t have a fire pit in your backyard, you should get one! We love to sit outside, build a fire and have a drink after the kids go to bed. It’s a great way to relax and reconnect after a long day.

Go to a wine or beer tasting together. There is usually a local winery or brewery around. Also, many restaurants offer wine or beer tastings on certain nights. We love going to these because you get to try new drinks you normally wouldn’t order!

Go to a sporting event together. We live close to Auburn University, so of course our favorite sport to watch is football, but sometimes the tickets can get expensive. We also enjoy just going to the campus and tailgating. There are lots of other events that you can get pretty cheap tickets to all year-round. We love to go watch their baseball team. I’m from Cincinnati, so whenever we go visit we have to go to a Reds game!

Go to a concert together! Obviously prices vary on this, but this is one of our favorite date nights. We both love country music and we usually go to about three concerts per year. It’s so much fun to just sing along and dance together!

Do your errands together! This may sound boring, but whenever my husband has a day off we ride around together and do the boring errands. The kids may be in school or at their grandparents house, but it makes it more fun to do them together. Plus, you can talk uninterrupted in the car!
