How much did you love to dress up as a little girl? Those little ones have such a sense of independent style. They know what they want to wear and most certainly what they do NOT want to wear. Solution to those tiny tantrums or expensive trends: FabKids, a fashion service co-created by Christina Applegate. Yes, you read that title correct. Your little girl or girls can be styled by the famous sitcom star, actress and breast cancer survivor/activist. Fabkids is based on ready-to-play clothing that’s so stylish, you may just want the outfit yourself! It’s meant to empower girls’ self-esteem through self-expression. And it won’t break the bank either. First you take a free style quiz, then you shop your outfit picks based on the quiz results. Each month you’ll find new outfits styled just for your girl. Every outfit includes 3 pieces for just $39.95 (free shipping)! But, before we send you off to sign up for FabKids, sit down and hear how the whole thing started straight from the creator herself!

1. How did FabKids originate? What was the motivation behind this line?

FabKids was founded by a team of parents, which I think is one of the biggest reasons why it all works. Everyone on the team is 100% committed to creating a brand that little girls and their parents love. When I met the team, learned more about the concept and the brand philosophy, I was really excited. I love everything the brand stands for, especially the strongly held beliefs on how to empower our daughters with what they wear and giving them the freedom to express themselves at a young age.

2. How is FabKids helpful for busy moms?

FabKids streamlines the shopping experience by recommending head-to-toe outfits based on your daughter’s personal style profile, so busy moms don’t have to spend a lot of time going shopping. In just one click, a cute, stylish FabKids outfit is delivered right to your door. FabKids also makes the getting-ready-in-the-mornings process so much easier. It saves time because every FabKids outfit is already put together.

3. What are the elements you look for in “Christina’s Picks” each month?

It’s been really fun to bring my eye and personal taste to FabKids. When choosing my monthly picks, I care tremendously about the style of each piece, but comfort and wearability are equally important.

4. What are your favorite pieces in the line? Why?

I have so many favorites. In general, I love that all of our designs are fresh and adorable, but also age-appropriate. Right now I’m loving the holiday collection- it’s a mix of festive party dresses and casual playwear with a twist of fashion. I love the Sugar and Spice Outfit – the tribal printed leggings are right on trend and completely wearable, warm and soft for everyday play.

5. Will you let Sadie dress herself ? What advice do you have for moms that have independent fashionistas?

Childhood is magical.  And you have to love some of the crazy combinations they come up with!  Sadie has been known to pair a hula skirt with a rocker tee.  And I love that. I love that childhood is such a safe time in girls’ lives to express themselves and experiment with different styles. It’s important to me that we further instill this security and self-esteem building while they are young girls. For moms with independent fashionistas, the great thing about FabKids is the breadth of the collections and how easy it is to mix and match the different style sensibilities, because some days she might want to be a princess and some days a rock star!
