Girls: Rain gear should be FUN. Girls gear these days take note from more mature styles, like the pink raincoat you see from Gap ($25). To keep it younger, go for a great designer pattern like the rainbow chevron coat, $25, from Target. The boots are where the patterns come in to play. Flowers, bow accents and kaleidoscope patterns are very in. Floral prints are super appropriate as “April showers bring May flowers.” We love the elephant print too! How cute are the alternating colors on that umbrella?!

Boys: Crazy, cartoon prints are always in. So, we tried to find this years’ trend. Camo is back people! Little boys can soldier up in the rain or they can take a nautical approach. The navy and white striped raincoat is perfect for splishing and splashing. It actually contrasts with the Dog Pirate umbrella from Hatley! Much like the girls, the rainboots can be fun for the younger boys. This subtle Dino pattern from Gymboree is adorable and only $16.

Unisex: Ponchos are great for both sexes. Check out these crazy prints from Stephen Joseph. The animal umbrellas are also very in. How cool is the frog? It breathes some life into the umbrella–maybe the kids won’t forget it at school or on the bus if it’s this cool, right?
