Smoothies are so in these days, they are trending right along pink lipstick and fishtail braids. Even fast food restaurants are selling them because they can be a quick snack to get in some extra fruits and veggies.  But be careful of the added fillers and sugars in a fast food smoothie. To avoid a healthy food bust, just opt to make your own instead. They only take a few minutes, so no excuses! Smoothies are a great way to get in some extra protein or you can just get a good daily dose of extra fruits and veggies on the run. Here are a few smoothie options Skinny Mom approves!

Peanut Butter Berry Smoothie via Cooking Light: Peanut butter is a great source of protein.  Make sure you use a healthier peanut butter that does not contain any hydrogenated oils.  Otherwise, you are defeating the purpose!
