While I typically shy away from any real activity Monday thru Thursday due to the fact that my mornings always begin somewhere between 4:30-6:00 am, last night I made an exception. You see, while I would normally categorize myself as an R&B kind of girl, Keith Urban has always just sort of gotten to me. Maybe it’s the fact that his lyrics are so beautiful, maybe it’s the fact that it’s not that “over the top” kinda country, or maybe it’s just the fact that Keith Urban, “Making Memories of Us” was the first song my fiance’ ever sung to me, and he has been singing Keith Urban to me ever since. Who knows, but that day back in May when tickets first went on sale, I snatched two of them up PRONTO!

So last night I met my fiance’ for dinner, then off to the concert we went. While finding our seats at 7:00 pm, we both began to yawn uncontrollably wondering if we’d even be able to make it through Jake Owen, the opening act. Well I can tell you all doubts were cleared within 10 minutes of the show. Jake Owen was an amazing opening act; full of energy and charisma. But I must admit I was counting the seconds for Keith to hop on stage.

Once he hit that first note, the crowd went crazy! Keith played about two hours worth of his greatest hits along with several new songs. The lights were pumping, the disco ball was glowing and he even had a few surprises up his sleeve. Not only did he do his performance on the main stage, but he did several songs on a mock stage in the center of where the floor seats were. He also  grabbed the mic and walked way up into the “nosebleed” sections to play a few songs for the fans up there. At one point, Keith actually autographed the guitar he was playing, and then handed it to a random fan in the crowd! Of course the sweetest part of the evening was when Keith had three different fans come to the stage and help him sing “I Wanna Kiss a Girl”.

All in all I must say I left the concert feeling exhilarated, and I could not get that sweet little country voice out of my head all night. So even though I  just barely woke up in time to get ready for work this morning, having some Keith Urban lyrics falling from my lips  the entire drive in was certainly worth the lack of sleep!
