As a first time new mom, I expected to have my son and then (poof) my tummy would go back to where it was. Little did I know, it would become a slow process. After he was born I would find myself making excuses as to why I couldn’t exercise; “ I was too tired,” “I had to work around the baby’s schedule,” “ I didn’t have time.” I began looking for ways I could lose the left over baby weight, in the best way possible. Thankfully, I have found a group in the Dallas area that focuses on post- natal fitness that includes bringing the baby. It’s a group called “Stroller Strides.”

“Stroller Strides” is a fitness program that is made up of walking,  strength training and toning by using your body and the stroller. Not only is  it a great work out for us, but it involves the kids as well and gets us in touch with other moms in our area. Another great thing I have found is that its a franchise, so there are several different groups around our metroplex as well as the country. This allows for different meeting spots that are convenient and close to home. The only requirements I have found for this group is that the babies be at least 6 weeks old, other than that they can be any age as long as they enjoy it.  If your little ones get fussy in the middle of a class the instructor will take short breaks to ensure that everyone is and stays happy. In addition to Stroller Strides, they also have other Mom groups and fitness classes to choose from. I thought this was such a great idea and wanted to share for those  who are interested. As I said before, there are classes all around the country, so to see if its in your area you can look directly on their website, Strollerstrides.com
