Being a stay-at-home mom provides me with countless joys, but to say that days can blend into weeks without so much as a spark of spontaneity is an understatement. Babies, or my baby in particular I should say, LOVE routine. Sure, we find lots of different ways to change up playtime, but playtime is playtime, nap time is nap time, and mealtime is mealtime. So, I often find myself chunking my day out just like my sweet one does. While it’s certainly efficient to map my days out around naps and feedings, that kind routine has a way of robbing one of the “spice of life,” so to speak.
This monotony is what prompted me to create a challenge for myself in the form of lunchtime adventuring. You see, the schedule baby keeps now actually allows me to eat a normal lunch at normal lunchtime, so I’m using it as an opportunity to make my lunches anything BUT normal. (If you listen closely, you can hear my hands high-fiving my stomach for this one!)
So, my challenge to myself each afternoon is to get creative in the kitchen with the limited time most mamas have by making myself a differently themed wrap each day. To keep things simple, there are a few key criteria my lunches must meet each day. They must be:
- Easily prepared!
Having been at it now for a bit, I can tell you that with a little bit of creativity the possibilities are endless!
