As a mom, I’m always looking for a short and effective workout that I can do anywhere. One of my favorite types of workouts are fat-burning workouts combining strength and cardio. I have found a few favorite moves that I am able to do in my home, while traveling and even with my kids that help keep me moving and in shape.

Perform each move 15 times (each side when applicable) and repeat the set three times.

Skaters:

Plié Squat with arm raises: Start with arms by your side, as you squat raise your arms laterally to shoulder level.

Lunge with shoulder press:

Plank: Get into a pushup position. Tighten your core and hold this pose 30-60 seconds.

Jump squat:

Side Lunge Row: Start in a standing position with your feet shoulder-width apart and your hands at your sides facing palms-down. Then, step your left leg into a side lunge while simultaneously pulling your hands up your body until your elbows are even with your shoulders. See a how-to video here!

Mountain Climbers: Begin in a pushup position then lift your right knee toward your chest. Return to the starting position, then repeat with your left knee. Alternate your legs quickly. Check out the video for this move!

You can perform these moves with our without weights depending on your level. Remember to challenge yourself and have fun!
