You may have already read my post about my nursery, but I have to devote a post about decals. I have had so many compliments on the cherry blossom tree in the girl’s room ranging from “wow, I thought you painted this” to “where do I get one of these.” I have to say this was one of my better decorating decisions in my life, and I don’t have that many!
So what exactly is a decal? Decals are an inexpensive and innovative way to transform any room. Wall decals are like giant vinyl stickers that adhere to the wall and are created in the design and color of your choice. They are simple to install and take less time than painting. They are also removable so that when you are ready to transform your room again, all you have to do is peel it off!
The decal company I selected was Dali Decals, which was referred by a friend. The cherry blossom tree was probably one of their more complex designs, and its huge – 8′ x 8.5′. Because of the size I needed my Mom to help me. The trunk itself was in 4 pieces, which you had to line up each section. All the blossoms had to be individually placed, but they did provide step-by-step instructions and pattern. Since my Mom is an artist, I just let her tell me where to stick the blossoms. Installation was easy, but time consuming; it took us about 6 hours but mostly because we had to decide where to place the blossoms.
Wall decal pricing is very affordable. Decals range from $10 to $200, with the average range of $50-$75 for a nice size decal. You can also personalize decals with your child’s name or even create a customized decal for the room.
So if you are looking for a simple and inexpensive way to spruce up your child’s room, check out wall decals.
