Leather is a hot trend this winter and one I am totally excited about.  I don’t consider myself a fashion expert, which is exactly why I’ve made it my task to say “you can wear leather too!”  I’m talking to those who object to the real thing as well.  Vegan leather has come a long way from the pleather (plastic leather) days.  I also recommend them to those who don’t want to spend a large amount on one pricey item.  Vegan leather pieces that are adorable and affordable.

This year, leather is for everyone.  Still afraid you aren’t edgy enough for it?  Here are four excellent ways to incorporate leather into your wardrobe today:

1.  Boots.  If you are nervous about rocking the trend of the moment, you can’t go wrong with a pair of leather boots.  The options are endless and styles classic.  If you are feeling more daring, try a studded bootie like ones from Mango.

2.  Leggings.  Every designer has come out with a pair of leather leggings from the high end, Paige or Citizens of Humanity, to the more affordable, Sanctuary or Blank Denim. Pair them with a sexy heel or a slim bootie when you have a date or a girl’s night out.

3.  Dress with accents.  A complete outfit all in one, a dress with leather panels or accents is a no brainer.  My favorite styles on the racks right now come from pricey Rebecca Taylor and more reasonable Sabine.

4.  Jacket.  I’m not talking about a Fonzie replica or something that resembles a greaser costume.  2013 offers leather jackets in a variety of colors like burgundy, melon, brown, and nude.  For a more subtle look, try the demin jacket with leather sleeves from Rag & Bone (Forever21 has an affordable version too).

Leather styles can be classic or trendy, exquisite or disposable, traditional black or a pop of color.  No matter the variety you are drawn to, it’s your task to find the look that works for you!
