Do you ditch the rules of wearing white after Labor Day? Or, are there exceptions? One of my favorite looks in the winter mixes a pair of off white jeans worn with a black top, black jacket + black leather booties and a pop of color scarf. Many people cringe at the thought of wearing white in the winter, but it is so versatile and can add the perfect contrast to any outfit. I am not talking about BRIGHT whites, but more subdued creamy, ivory beige pieces that can easily be added to your winter wardrobe.

I must admit that I was a little skeptical about a recent purchase I made at Anthropologie a few weeks ago – off white skinny jeans!!  However, paired with a brown sweater and brown riding boots, they were fabulous!! The key to wearing white jeans in winter is pairing them with cold weather fabrics and textures. Sometimes we have to go out of our “comfort zone” and take chances. Frye has a pair of vintage-distressed Ivory Boots out now that I am lusting over. Unfortunately, I am under BOOT ARREST so they will have to wait.

Here are a few pieces that I am loving right now and can easily transition from winter to spring. Don’t let the dark, dreary days of winter bring you down. Add some off white hues to your wardrobe! Trust me, you will look amazingly stylish and sometimes we need to take fashion risks, after all who wants to blend? It’s much more fun to stand out!
