I look forward to Thanksgiving each year as it is such a special day to my family and I.  Our family tradition is that we all get together and spend the day at my aunt’s house…my granny makes chicken n’ dumplings, my uncle carves the turkey, and my wonderful aunts and mom make all of the sides and the desserts.  The family seems to grow in size each year as my cousins, including myself, have started having babies. The crew is about 60 members strong these days.  We are so blessed to still have my granny and papaw with us, making each year that we get together for Thanksgiving all the more special.

As I started packing to head home for Thanksgiving and with the holiday being only a day away, it got me thinking about what I was thankful for this year…it seems that it is a good time for all of us to reflect on what we’re thankful for this year. I thought I’d share my list with you — and I hope you respond and share what you’re thankful for too…

My Faith- I have to list this as my number one because I truly believe that all things are possible with faith.   My faith in Jesus Christ gives me purpose each day, it is the driving force behind me wanting to live my best life, and has been my peace in the middle of the trials and setbacks that have come my way.

My lil man, Easton- It was only a few weeks ago, that I celebrated his 1st birthday…what a blessing he is in my life!  He motivates me, gives me purpose, has brought me fulfillment that I could have never imagined, and challenges me every day to love unconditionally as he loves me.

My Family- I know there is no such thing as a perfect family but I truly believe that I have the closest thing to one…My mom is the most amazing woman I have ever met and she is the best grandma to my son.  My sisters, Cara and Amanda, are my best friends and thank you for always making me laugh and being honest with me. My dad is the most humble and unselfish man alive, not to mention, a wonderful babysitter and an awesome grandpa!  You all show me what unconditional love is every day:)

My Friends-I have said this so many times, but I will say it again…”You can not put a price tag on good friends!”  I am beyond blessed to have so many wonderful friends and there is no way that I could list you all but B, T, and Shannon…you know who you are!

Skinny Mom Crew and Supporters– This website all started as a simple idea and has grown over the past 7 months into something that I could have never imagined!  I am so thankful to Sian, Katie, Shelley, Brandy, and Laura for being so patient with me, believing in Skinny Mom, and for all of your hard work.  I also have to say that I am so grateful to every one who visits the site and supports the Skinny Mom mission!  Also special thanks to Teresa, Tameka, and Vada too!

On a less serious note, I am also thankful for…

My IPOD- What would I do without my music? A special thank you to Britney, Beyonce, Carrie, and Lady Antebellum…you have all helped teach my son how to dance, pushed me to finish 5ks, and clean my house countless times.  I also have to mention KLOVE…thanks for keeping me positive and hopeful:)

Childcare at the gym- I would never be able to workout!

Reality TV- I am grateful to Project Runway, Real Housewives, Chopped, and Toddlers and Tiaras for keeping my DVR full and for making my lazy Sunday afternoons more enjoyable.

Nap-time- I would never get anything done…blogging, cooking, cleaning, or even sometimes taking a shower would not be possible without nap-time…is it almost NOON?  LOL!

I would love to hear what you are most thankful for!
